Coronavirus infection are located rapidly approaching new highs in several cities and small towns across the countryAccording to undisclosed data, the White House pandemic task force uses the level of infection that NBC News received to track.
The May 7 coronavirus task force report disagrees with President Donald Trump’s statement Monday that “numbers are rapidly declining across the country.”
In 10 main areas, jumps of 72.4 percent or more were recorded over a seven-day period compared to the previous week, according to a set of tables prepared for the target group by its data and analytics division. These include Nashville, Tennessee; Des Moines, Iowa; Amarillo, Texas; and – at the top of the list with an increase of 650 percent – Downtown, Kentucky.
In a separate list of “places to watch” that did not meet the exact criteria for the first set: Charlotte, North Carolina; Kansas City, Missouri; Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska; Minneapolis Montgomery, Alabama; Columbus, Ohio; and phoenix. The number of new cases in Charlotte and Kansas City has increased by more than 200 percent from the previous week, and other tables included in the data show clusters in neighboring counties that do not form geographical areas, such as Wisconsin Kenosha and The counties of Racine, which are adjacent between Chicago and Milwaukee.
To date, more than 80,000 people in the United States have died from coronavirus, and the number of new cases has not yet decreased overall. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that there were 23,792 new cases on Sunday, less than the number for each of the previous four days, but more than May 4 and May 5.
The peak incidence suggests that the pandemic is spreading rapidly outside large coastal communities that were early hot spots, while some states where new hot spots live are following Trump’s advice. relax home restrictions,

Alabama, Kentucky, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Tennessee, for example, do not have home ordersaccording to the map of the target group. In other states where restrictions are imposed or lifted locally, leaps are observed in some counties. Dallas and Fort Bend counties in Texas, where decisions are made locally, are included in the list of “places to watch,” since they recorded an increase in cases of 116.8 percent and 64.8 percent, respectively.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, California, whose state includes the country’s fastest growing geographic area, said Monday that he “did not feel the need” for Congress to approve yet another bill to counter the coronavirus.
